Pedigree

Meet Major, my timeless treasure.   Before I tell you about his lineage, let me tell you about this dog.  First, he's correct.  He was a very easy finish as an AKC conformation champion.  Again, the conformation champion is the best representation of the breed standard.    He's an exceptional hunter.  He's not an extremely close hunter, but not too far out either.  He's the perfect dog for the foot hunter, which is my husband's preference.  Major is fully steady and retrieves to the hand.

Conformation and hunting aside, Major is a house dog here for us and is very gentle with my 1 year old granddaughter who lives here.  While I agree your dog is what you train it to be, Major made it easy with his biddability, cooperation, and desire to work.

Major is sired by 30 year old frozen semen.  You read that correctly.  Dr. Renee Lara, DVM (breeder of Major) went back 30 years to bring DNA to 2023. Did you know you can't just SAY she used 30 year old frozen semen, she had to mail DNA to AKC on EVERY puppy to prove parentage!  AFTER every puppy was DNA proven to the sire, THEN she was able to register the litter.  I actually bought Major without having AKC papers in hand due to the lengthy DNA process.

Major is the complete package.  He represents the breed standard, he's an exceptional hunter, he's the best house dog, he's liver roan with a solid head, has dark eyes (a preference for upland hunters due to a camouflage coat), and he's the sweetest male dog you've ever met.

A quick note...  Major has never been male aggressive his entire life.  We have multiple intact males here and he's with them everyday.  Very few males are male aggressive in the field, but many are in their own home, Major isn't.
